Lallana confident of shaking off ankle knock ahead of Iceland showdown

Earlier today we brought you worrying pictures of Adam Lallana’s ankle being heavily bandaged and covered in ice – but it now looks like he will still be fit for England vs Iceland in the last 16 on Monday night.

If he was missing it would be a major blow for England and Roy Hodgson; he is widely considered to be the Three Lions’ stand-out performer of the competition so far.

According to the Telegraph, the 28-year-old has been told the injury is not serious and he will be able to play. He reportedly train tomorrow in a bid to prove his fitness.

It is understood that Roy is a huge fan of Lallana’s workrate and vision, even though our man is still waiting for his first goal in an England kit.

If he can prove his fitness, he is certain to start the match against Iceland.

Kick-off in Nice is at 7pm BST and will be shown on ITV in the UK.
