Klopp hoping to beat Serie A giants to 20 goal striker

Carlos Bacca is hot property at the moment, with a number of clubs chasing his signature despite the striker only signing for AC Milan last season. We’re apparently looking to sign the player this summer, but face competition from Serie A side Roma, as reported by talkSPORT.

We were heavily linked with a move for the Colombian last season after he’d impressed for Sevilla, but lost out to AC Milan. Reports suggest he could be ready to move on already though, with a number of clubs looking at luring him away.

The 29-year-old was fantastic in La Liga, and continued that fine-form when he moved to Italy. He scored 20 goals for AC Milan in 42 games, which is an excellent return by anyone’s standards. The fact that Milan aren’t the team they once were makes it all the more impressive, and with more creative players around him he could arguably improve on that tally.

All that said, he’s not necessarily ideally suited to our style of play or the Premier League. He’s a quality goal poacher, but he’s not blessed with great pace, strength, or many other attributes.

He’s unquestionably a great finisher, but beyond that he offers very little. In a two striker system he may work very well, but it’s questionable whether he’d fit Jurgen Klopp’s style.
