Liverpool fan favourite welcomes Mane to ‘fantastic’ new club

Sadio Mane is on the verge of a £30m switch to Liverpool, with the deal to bring him in from Southampton seemingly as good as done, as reported by the Metro.

Fan favourite Mamadou Sakho seems to think the Senegalese international will fit right in at Anfield, claiming he will soon find out just how fantastic a club we are.

The French defender is of Senegalese heritage, and he has recently been in Africa doing some charity work after being left out of Didier Deschamps Euro 2016 squad due to his ongoing drugs ban saga (via The Guardian).

Speaking to RTS 1 en Direct (via the Metro), he discussed his previous meetings with Mane and talked up his switch to Liverpool.

“We met two or three times on the pitch and in the tunnel,” he said.

“It’s already been four years that I’ve been at this fantastic club and he will discover that by himself.”

Mane looks set to become one of the most expensive signings in the club’s history once he completes his summer switch, with Jurgen Klopp pushing the boat out to secure the tricky winger.

The manager clearly thinks he’s a top talent if he’s willing to fork out £30m for him, and hopefully he allows Klopp to put more of his own stamp on the Liverpool style of play.

Hopefully we’re able to see both Sakho and Mane turn out in pre-season, with both men preparing for what could be a massive season for us.
