Despite the fact Lallana had been England’s best player during the group stages, Hodgson went with the woefully out of form former Liverpool winger – who was as abysmal as his team-mates in the 2-1 Last 16 loss to Iceland.
Wayne Rooney and Hodgson have both denied the claims by Sky Sports sources, but this didn’t stop an enormous Twitter reaction – which abused both Sterling, the manager and the supposed senior players who didn’t want him in the team in the first place…
Where do you stand, Reds? It’s fair to say that the worst thing Sterling ever did for his career, both at club and international level was leave Liverpool. We tried to tell him…
