New Liverpool fitness coach Kornmayer set to beast unwanted Balotelli into condition

Mario Balotelli is set for a rude awakening this summer.

The wantaway Italian has attracted zero interest from abroad or in England, meaning he’s due back at Melwood for pre-season.

And according to Paul Joyce in the Express, Liverpool’s new fitness coach Andreas Kornmayer – acquired from Bayern Munich – is going to give Balotelli and the his team-mates not on international duty a summer to remember…

Jurgen Klopp wants his squad to have a superb base level of fitness which will prevent injury and aid our relentless pressing game – and Kornmayer’s been signed as a result. He comes from Germany with a superb reputation, while Balotelli is regarded as a troublemaker during training sessions.

In August last year, the Echo published a long list of Balotelli’s misdemeanours, including a time when he openly refused to engage in shuttle-runs, as instructed by former fitness coach Ryland Morgans.

You can be sure this will simply not happen under Klopp and Kornmayer. Similarly, Balotelli’s entourage will not be welcome at Melwood, and until a new club is found – he’ll need to train hard like his team-mates.

The likes of Alberto Moreno, Roberto Firmino and new signing Sadio Mane didn’t play internationally this summer and will be back at Melwood with him – along with a host of talented youngsters.

Hopefully we can offload Balotelli soon, but you never know – perhaps Klopp is the one manager who’ll help the controversial striker reach his potential!

(We can dream…)
