Picture: Mamadou Sakho continues charity work by delivering food to Senegalese city

While the rest of the Liverpool squad are back in pre-season training this week, Mamadou Sakho is continuing to use his extended summer to do good.

The Reds centre-back has spent the last couple of weeks working for his AMSAK charity in Africa, to try to improve the lives of suffering people and children.

And his latest act of kindness was delivering 30 tonnes of rice to the people of Tambacounda – the largest city in eastern Senegal. He uploaded these picture to Instagram.

Sakho’s reputation may have taken a bit of a hit because of the ongoing doping scandal, but he has shown this summer, away from football, what a great man he is.

We can’t wait to have him back with the boys at Melwood. The squad is better for his presence.
