Sheyi Ojo rewarded for fine end-of-season form with place in England U19s EUROs squad

Our exciting young wide man Sheyi Ojo has been called up for England U19’s European Championships squad.

Ojo was in dazzling form at the end of last season, displacing Jordon Ibe as the most encouraging youngster in the squad.

That form has been rewarded by England U19s boss Aidy Boothroyd, who has included him in his 18-man squad (via Echo).

England’s tournament kicks off on 12th July when they face France. Holland and Croatia are the other two sides in their group. Any potential semi-final would take place on July 21st, with the final on Sunday, July 24th.

The call-up means Ojo will not be part of our tour in the United States. The squad is due to fly out shortly after our friendly against Huddersfield on 20th July. The first game is against Chelsea on July 28th.

It is thought that he will not join up with the squad, even if England are eliminated in the group.
