Mamadou Sakho has finished his hearing with UEFA in Paris and now faces an anxious wait to discover his fate.

According to the Echo, UEFA have promised that a ruling will be made “within days”.

(Where have we heard that before?!)

There are three possible outcomes to the situation:

  1. Sakho is found not guilty.
  2. Sakho is found guilty but UEFA accept that missing the last eight games of the season, the Europa League final and semi-final, and the Euros was sufficient punishment
  3. Sakho is found guilty and given a further ban.

Of course, if he’s found guilty, Sakho will have the right to appeal – and could even take his case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
