Liverpool bested Tranmere on Friday evening in a friendly which very much felt like the first game after a summer off!
Danny Ings was the best player on the park, and changed the game when he came on in the second-half to score the winner.
Getting on the end of the ball from youngster Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ings slammed home at the near post with his right foot to seal the game, with the home side not offering much in terms of attack throughout the 90.
Loris Karius, Joel Matip and Sadio Mane all made debuts, with the latter most impressive. Our £30m acquisition saw plenty of the ball and gave Reds a glimpse of what’s to come with direct running and mazy dribbles.
