Confirmed Liverpool lineup vs Fleetwood Town: First start for Grujic as other new signings feature

Posted by

We’re set to see several of our new signings in action against Fleetwood Town this Wednesday afternoon, with Loris Karius, Joel Matip, Marko Grujic, and Sadio Mane all in action.

There will also be a few forgotten stars getting a start, so it could definitely be an interesting watch.

Check out the lineup below:

GK) Loris Karius

The German shot-stopper starts in goal, and although he’s unlikely to be too troubled by Fleetwood Town, it will be great to see him in action.

RB) Jon Flanagan

After finally recovering from his injury issues, Flanagan will be hoping to prove himself in pre-season.

LB) Alberto Moreno

Another player looking to prove himself is Moreno, who certainly could be battling for his place next season.

CB) Dejan Lovren

Lovren has come on leaps and bounds following a poor start to his Liverpool career, so may well find himself with a starting role when the season begins.

CB) Joel Matip

Another new signing that we can’t wait to see more of, Matip will be keen to show he’s ready to get stuck in immediately and earn his place.

CM) Kevin Stewart

The 22-year-old seems unlikely to be a regular fixture in the team once the season starts, but an impressive pre-season could always change that.

CM) Trent Alexander-Arnold

The teenage midfielder seems even less likely to be handed any serious game time when the season starts, but Jurgen Klopp clearly likes what he sees so far.

CM) Marko Grujic

Grujic has actually been a Liverpool player for months, but this will be the first time we get to see him in action as he replaces Pedro Chirivella following our 1-0 win over Tranmere.

RAM) Sadio Mane

Arguably the most exciting signing so far, it will be great to see how Mane slots into Klopp’s Liverpool side.

LAM) Lazar Markovic

It would be great if Markovic were able to reignite his Liverpool career under Klopp after a poor spell under Brendan Rodgers, but whether or not that’s possible remains to be seen.

ST) Danny Ings

A poorly timed and serious injury threatened to cut Ings’ time at Anfield short, but he too could resurrect his Liverpool career with a fine pre-season.

It’s an exciting lineup to say the least, and with the exception of those with Euro 2016 duties and Brazilian duo Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho, we should see most of these players as regulars next season.

Adam Bogdan, Roberto Firmino, Lucas, Tiago Ilori, and Andre Wisdom are all on the bench, and should feature in the second half.
