LFC predicted XI v Fleetwood: Grujic debut, Mane continues & more

Posted by

It’s almost impossible to predict what side Jurgen Klopp will use during this summer’s friendlies, as he’s certain to suggest a mix of youngsters, first-teamers and new signings.

We’re convinced he’ll stick to a 4-2-3-1 however, which he used in the first-half and the second-half versus Tranmere last week.

In that game, Danny Ings, Ovie Ejaria and Lazar Markovic perhaps impressed most, so we’re suggesting those three will get starts away to Fleetwood.

With Simon Mignolet in goal, Loris Karius will surely continue, and we’d like to see him given the whole game with Adam Bogdan departing soon for Wigan.

At right-back Jon Flanagan is the obvious first-half choice, and we can see Brad Smith starting on the left over Alberto Moreno. In the middle, Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren should lineup as Mamadou Sakho is unfortunately injured and will miss the start of the campaign. Now then is the chance for these two to form a starting partnership.

Centrally, we’d like to see Marko Grujic given his debut, alongside the experienced Lucas. Cameron Brannagan and Pedro Chirivella can provide second-half options.

Sadio Mane should keep his spot on the right, while Ejaria, so impressive on Friday, deserves another start alongside our star names. Markovic played on the right against Tranmere, but we’d like to see him used on the left this time.

Roberto Firmino played up top last time from the beginning, but Danny Ings grabbed the winner and has been on fire in training. We presume the Englishman will get the nod this time, allowed to develop his relationship with Mane.

If this team is spot on, we’ll be very impressed with ourselves!
