Swansea City are stalling over their decision about whether or not to offer Joe Allen a Liverpool escape route.

They’ve been linked with the Welsh international since the start of the summer, but according to SkySports, they will wait to hear about the outcome of Allen’s talks with Liverpool before deciding their next move.

Allen came through the youth system at the Swans before joining us for £15 million in the summer of 2012.

He’s never managed to fully establish himself as a first-team regular at Anfield, and made just eight league starts last season.

Klopp confirmed that he will hold talks with Allen when he returns to Melwood (SkySports), but refused to divulge information about whether that meant a new contract or a potential sale.

The BBC reported today that Allen himself is keen to resolve his future this summer, and with Sevilla also recently declaring their interest (Echo), we can’t help but feel he’ll still be on the way out during this transfer window.
