The Piotr Zielinski saga doesn’t seem to be over just yet, sorry folks. It does look like it’s on the verge of completion though, as he’s apparently made a final decision when choosing between AC Milan and Liverpool, according to Sky Sports.
It seemed as though we’d given up on signing the Polish international, and for all we know that may well still be the case. Stiff competition from Serie A seemed to put us out of the running for the Udinese midfielder, but reports from the player’s agent (via Sky Sports) suggest he had a decision to make nonetheless.
The player is yet to announce his destination, but it seems his future has been decided. It doesn’t seem like it will be announced until it’s official though, as his agent claims it’s a secret.
“We know that many offers reached Udinese for Zielinski. We’re talking to [Giampaolo] Pozzo and the interested clubs,” he said.
“It’s true [that Liverpool have been tracking the player] but I don’t like to talk about negotiations in the papers.
“We’ve decided, but it’s a secret.”
It’s very possible that Zielinski could still end up as a Liverpool player, but after the stories floating around we suspect he might remain in Italy. Jurgen Klopp was clearly a fan of the player, but there are certainly other options out there if he’s desperate for another midfielder.
We’ll have to wait and see what the player’s decision is, but if we had to guess it looks like he’s set to be an AC Milan player next season.
