Ragnar Klavan allegedly passes Liverpool medical – news still to be officially confirmed

Ragnar Klavan has passed his Liverpool medical, according to a short note on the Echo’s daily timeline.

They say that the Estonian defender’s tests were completed without any problems and that the club would officially announce the signing on Wednesday. The fee will be £4.2 million.

Klavan is 30-years-old and has been brought in as cover for our injury-hit back four. Sakho and Gomez will both miss the start of the season will Achilles problems, Joel Matip is still not 100 percent after having metal pins removed from his ankle, and Tiago Ilori is about to head out the Olympics in Rio.

He has been an Augsburg player since 2012, making 125 league appearances for the German outfit. He also captains the Estonia national team, has won the Estonian Footballer of the Year award three times, and has 112 caps for his country.
