Best Bosman transfers available – Ex-Barcelona & Real Madrid stars included

It’s not long until the season starts now, but we’re still arguably in need of a couple of players. One place we could be looking for additions is the free transfer list, with a number of quality players often overlooked after coming to the end of their respective contracts.

We’ve put together a list of four players available on a Bosman who could add something to our club, with players who used to play for the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Juventus.

4) Alvaro Arbeloa

The former Liverpool star looks to be on the verge of signing for AC Milan, but until he does he’s still available on a Bosman. He may well be past his best and getting on in years, but his experience could be valuable and he’s capable of playing both right-back and centre-back.

3) Martin Caceres

The Uruguayan has been a bit of a journeyman, moving to many clubs during his career, and until recently he had never really settled anywhere for more than a season.

He spent the last few years at Juventus, and although he struggled for game time up against some top quality centre-backs, a player with Juventus, Sevilla, Villarreal, and Barcelona on his CV can’t be all bad.

2) Jeremy Pied

The right-back has been pursued by Southampton already this summer, but turned down the contract on offer (via the Daily Mail). Our options at right-back our limited so he could be an option, and a move to Anfield would no doubt appeal far more than a switch to St Mary’s.

1) Miguel Veloso

Emre Can could potentially end up being the only option we have in defensive midfield this season, as Lucas Leiva is still being linked with a move away (via the Daily Mail).

The Portuguese midfielder has struggled badly with injury recently – and was consequently left out of Portugal’s Euro 2016 winning squad – but is still a quality player.

You could argue that none of these players are of the quality required to play for Liverpool, but if we’re stuck for options then Jurgen Klopp could keep them in mind.
