Jose Enrique was released by Liverpool this summer after five seasons with the club – the final three of which saw only 12 Premier League appearances…
But it seems his lack of minutes, consistent injuries and his happiness to pick up his wage rather than move for game-time has not put off potential suitors.
According to the IBTimes, West Ham, West Brom and Crystal Palace are interested in signing the 30-year-old left-back.
Slaven Bilic’s side are in desperate need of enforcements in that position as Aaron Cresswell recently picked up a nasty injury, which will see him out until nearly Christmas.
West Ham have huge aspirations now they’re moving into the Olympic Stadium, but we’re not too intimidated by their transfer strategy if they’re targeting Enrique. We’d happily let them have them a few seasons back, instead!
At his best, Enrique is a physically strong, robust defender, but fitness and attitude issues meant Jurgen Klopp had no choice but to release him.
It’ll be interesting to see how it does at one of the aforementioned clubs, if they do decide to take the plunge.
