Jurgen Klopp has been sharing his thoughts with the media ahead of our second International Champions Cup friendly this weekend.

We face AC Milan on either Saturday night or Sunday morning, depending where in the world you live.

“If you have seen them in training, there is a special quality that we did not have last year,” said Klopp.

“New players have to bring in their quality. But it doesn’t mean they have to play all the time.

“Their quality can be brought on to the pitch or it can push all the others on to the next level.” (via Echo).

He went on to insist we were now looking at a Jurgen Klopp team; for much of last season he was dealing with a mish mash of players from the Rodgers, Dalglish, Hodgson, and even Rafa eras.

But the ongoing summer clearout, along with seven new faces so far, has changed the look of the squad beyond recognition.

“Of course it’s my team, my squad now. We will see what happens before August 31, but after all the transfers, this time it is my team.

“There are no players probably who are here any more who I don’t want.

“There are no transfers I didn’t want, we have not sold anyone I didn’t want us to sell.

“What they’ve done so far is more than okay. It is a different situation to last year.”

We could still sign a new left-back, but there are unlikely to be any further signings beyond that. Benteke, Balotelli, and Luis Alberto are leading the line of players who are still expected to leave this summer.
