Serie A new boys Pescara have become the latest side to rule out a move for Mario Balotelli.

“We don’t need to buy figurines just to make somebody happy,” said their club president, Daniele Sebastiani.

“We’re working behind the scenes on finding players with the right profile for Pescara. We’re running our own transfer market and if we want to do anything, we need to be patient.” (via corriere.it / translated via ESPN)

Fellow league new boys Crotone were linked with Mario earlier in the summer (SkySports), but those rumours have gone quiet over recent weeks.

It shows just how low the player’s stock has dropped over recent seasons that such minnows aren’t keen on his services.

Being pictured doing stupid things – like smoking in public on his holidays – isn’t helping his cause.

Sebastiani also doubted whether or not the striker would even entertain a step down to their level:

“I know that his is the name that would get the most attention,” he said.”[But] Mario is a great player and I think that the last thing he would do would be to come and play at Pescara or Crotone.

Will we be able to shift Mario this summer? Is he destined for another loan move? Or could he get a surprise reprieve in the first-team squad?
