Newcastle United’s midfielder Moussa Sissoko has been told to train by himself after repeatedly stating his desire to exit the club.

Sissoko has been widely linked with a move to Liverpool in recent weeks and months, but to official offer appears to have been made.

Benitez reportedly wants at least £35 million from any potential suitors, with the player’s stock having risen considerably thanks to his performances alongside Paul Pogba at the Euros in France.

Sissoko, however, appears to be more enamoured with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid than a switch to Merseyside – at least if his most recent comments are anything to go by:

“Real Madrid are a very big club, but you have to think and have no regrets,” he said.

“I still hope to have the chance to join a more exclusive club. Now we are negotiating with Newcastle.

“My agent has had discussions with the club. They are open to a departure. We are in discussions. We’ll see what happens.”

We secured his teammate Gini Wijnaldum of course, so are very likely no longer interested. It’ll be craziness if a club does agree to pay such a sum for a Championship footballer, mind!
