(Video) Archive footage shows Klopp refusing German interview for much funnier reason than S*n-gate

Quite rightly, Jurgen Klopp is now refusing to give interviews to the S*n newspaper or even answer questions from their reporters at press-conferences.

This is because of a story they ran on Dejan Lovren’s personal life which was entirely intrusive and unethical.

But the time he refused to speak to a certain reporter in Germany is much more comical!

SWR journalist Stephen Mai attended around 50 away games during Klopp’s stints at Mainz and Borussia Dortmund, and never once saw a Klopp victory! Mai then made a joke about himself being a bad luck charm, but it didn’t go down well with our boss!

Below are the two filmed discussions between Klopp and the reporter, first at Mainz and then at Dortmund. We’ve added a translation, too!

Hilarious. Let’s hope Mai doesn’t head to England and cover Liverpool’s away matches any time soon…

JK: “I’ve never seen you when we had a good match.”
SM: “That’s not true…”
JK: “When did you ever see us win away?”
SM: “I’d have to think long…”
JK: “Never! I saw you before the match and I immediately felt five classes (leagues) worse. Could you please tell SWR that they send a different reporter to away games? You can come to home matches but please stay away from away games! I’m not superstitious, but when I see you….”

JK: “Oh kiss my ass…really, no joke, giving you an interview now? I’m looking forward to that like I’m looking forward to having tooth pain. And how dumb you laughed at me before the match. Do you have to be here? I don’t understand it.  Did I ever get a point when you were here? They’ve got 50 people at SWR and you come here to have fun and laugh at me before the match and say, “I can’t change it!”
SM: “Well I can’t change it!”
JK: “That’s why you’re not getting an interview.”
