If there’s one good thing about this summer, it’s that we’ve all learned a lot more about some of the smallest sides in Serie A.
According to reports on Football-Italia, Sassuolo are the latest side to express their interest in signing the striker – or so says one of Mario’s entourage.
“It’s true, Sassuolo thought of him,” said Enzo Raiola (a cousin of Balotelli’s agent, Mino Raiola).
“But in terms of wages we’re light years apart. Liverpool will never accept the figures on offer, unless nothing happens before [August] 31.
“Chievo? Yes, but these are the only two clubs in Italy who have tested the waters. Mario wants to get back into the game and feel important.”
The article claims Sassuolo would pay Mario €2 million per season, and we’d be left paying the other €4 million.
By our reckoning, that now takes the number of Italian teams linked with him to five. They are:
… or in other words, 25 percent of the entire league!
