Jan Molby thinks Jurgen Klopp will pick Gini Wijnaldum ahead of Jordan Henderson at the Emirates on Sunday.

He predicts the German will be “bold” in his selection, and choosing Gini over the captain will let us play on the front foot.

“I think the manager will go for Gini Wijnaldum ahead of Jordan Henderson in midfield,” said the Dane.

“It would be a big deal to leave out the captain and Henderson gives you greater defensive solidity. But Klopp wants Liverpool to be brave and he wants quality in terms of creating chances in that area.” (Echo).

Elsewhere he thinks Klavan will be partnered with Lovren in defence, and hopes that Divock Origi is given the nod in attack.

“Ragnar Klavan has done enough to get the nod ahead of Joel Matip at the back. Klavan has plenty of experience and will know what to do. He’s a steady eddie.

“I hope Divock Origi leads the line. His pace and strength against a depleted Arsenal backline would be a real weapon for Liverpool.”

Klopp suggests Arsenal are a long-ball side

The Gunners are woeful under-strength for the game; Per Mertesacker (knee) and Gabriel (ankle) are both out, Laurent Koscielny and Oliver Giroud haven’t kicked a ball in pre-season after their exploits at the Euros, and Danny Welbeck and Carl Jenkinson are both long-term absentees (Mirror).

With that in mind – Molby thinks it’s a perfect time to play Wenger’s outfit.

“Arsenal are without a number of key players, especially defensively, and from what I’ve seen they look under-cooked.

“They have been vulnerable at home early on in the season in recent years with West Ham and Aston Villa recording wins there and I just think Liverpool will cause Arsenal a lot of problems.”
