Real Madrid left-back linked with surprise Liverpool loan move

Posted by

Real Madrid left-back Fabio Coentrao has been linked with a loan move to Anfield.

Our summer-long hunt for an Alberto Moreno replacement and/or cover is well documented, and Spanish outlet Sport, reported in the Telegraph, are now suggesting we’ve settled on the 28-year-old Madrid man.

It seems a bit controversial – the Portuguese international is injured until October and never gets a look in at the Champions League holders.

He spent last season on loan at Monaco.

That said, would a loan move be that bad? It’d let us cover Moreno while allowing us to see how Flanno developed during his loan spell with Burnley. Surely it’s better than committing to a player who we might not even want or need next season?

Either way, it doesn’t look like it’ll happen. When foreign outlets have broke transfer rumours this summer, they’ve turned out bogus.
