James Milner and Daniel Sturridge ready to return as Reds travel to Burnley

James Milner and Daniel Sturridge will both be fit for this weekend’s trip to Burnley.

It was widely thought Milner might have played at left-back in our win against Arsenal, but an injury against Barcelona in our pre-season friendly ruled him out.

Sturridge also missed the opening weekend – along with the Barcelona clash – after picking up a slight hip injury.

However, Klopp has now confirmed they are fully fit.

“Emre Can was late coming back, but you could see in the second half he’s now in a good way. Sturridge is back, Divock came later and is getting better, same for Joel Matip. Milly is back,” said the German (via Echo).

But he insisted he had not yet decided who would take to the field at Turf Moor.

“I haven’t made a final decision about the line-up (for Burnley),” he continued.

“I told the players in the meeting when we analysed the Arsenal game that it was good enough for a first game because we won, but we have a lot of things to improve and have players coming back to training.

“My job is to watch during the week who gives me which signs, and then I decide on the line-up.”

We play Burnley on Saturday at 3pm BST.
