Premier League rivals keen on Mamadou Sakho loan deal

Stoke City are reportedly keen to bring in our French defender, Mamadou Sakho.

The former PSG player hasn’t played a competitive game since he was banned for failing a drugs test. He endured an eventful summer, missing out on a place at the Euros in his native France, picking up a nasty Achilles injury, and being sent home from our USA tour.

All those incidents combined mean Klopp is prepared to allow Sakho to go out on loan for a season to clear his head and regain fitness and form.

According the Echo, Stoke want to take us up on the offer.

“Everybody who needs to be informed about this has been informed about this,” Klopp said after our 5-0 thrashing of Burton in the League Cup last night.

“There are no secrets with the important people, I would say.”

If Sakho leaves, he would join former fan favourite Joe Allen in the Potteries.
