Klopp outlines the way to beat Spurs in Premier League clash

It’s back to Premier League duty this weekend as we travel down to London for the second time this season. Spurs are the opposition, and Klopp knows they’ll be a stern test.

The German is adamant we can beat them, but we need to eliminate some basic errors from our game if we are to stand any chance.

“Almost all the goals we have conceded up until now came after losing possession,” explain Klopp.

“It was not about the player who received the pass, it was about the player who played the pass in the wrong moment. You have to give him the ball when you know he has two or three options.” (Echo).

We’ve not had a great start the season from a defensive standpoint, shipping three goals against Arsenal on the opening day and two more against Burnley last weekend. That’s given us the joint-worst defence in the league in terms of goals conceded (along with Stoke).

“In the build up to the second goal against Burnley we lost four challenges in a row – it’s not about one player or one position. Four challenges! That’s a big mistake. Four times we had the opportunity to win the ball and didn’t do it,” he continued.

“That’s the things we work on. How can we improve in situations like this. We need to be harder. We need to really press in the challenge.”

How would you solve our leaking back line? Let us know in the comments…
