It’s Tottenham v Liverpool this weekend in what is an early battle between two sides with top four ambitions.
We go into the game after seven days of rollercoaster emotions. The loss to Burnley last Saturday brought us all back down to earth with a bump after the elation of beating Arsenal at the Emirates, but the great performance against an albeit inferior Burton Albion in midweek reignited our hopes.
However, there was more crushing news yesterday as it was revealed by Klopp that Emre Can, Divock Origi, and Philippe Coutinho were all serious doubts for tomorrow’s clash (Mirror). Of course, we’re also without Lucas, Ojo, Sakho, Karius, and Gomez – meaning whatever side takes to the field at White Hart Lane will be a long way from Klopp’s preferred starting eleven.
Spurs are not without their own concerns, however. Hugo Lloris is expected to sit out with a hamstring strain, and they’ve not really impressed in either of their opening two games; they needed a late Wanyama goal to beat Palace last time out.
It’ll be Klopp’s third game against the London club – his first ever game in charge of Liverpool saw us draw 0-0 in this game last season, while the return match at Anfield in February finished 1-1.
