Pulisic responds to Liverpool rumours with poorly advised comments…

Christian Pulisic isn’t especially interested in a Liverpool transfer now, and to make matters worse – he’s a Manchester United fan!

Liverpool bid for the Borussia Dortmund teenager towards the end of the summer transfer window, but the Germans were having none of it – despite signing an influx of attacking midfielders such as Mario Gotze, Andre Schurrle and Ousmane Dembele.

The 17-year-old American was at Dortmund when Jurgen Klopp was in charge though, and our manager is so impressed with the playmaker’s talents that he wants to bring him over to Merseyside.

Pulisic played down chances of a future move though, and stated his love for our arch rivals at the same time…

“I hear about it. I have social media. Obviously I’m not completely closed to the world. But I don’t let it affect me or how I’m playing at the time. The whole time throughout, I was just focused on training every day,” Pulisic told ESPN.

“I was a big Manchester United fan when I was younger, so I loved to watch Wayne Rooney.

“I wouldn’t say I’m a similar player, though. I think his passion for the game is something you don’t see much in players.

“That’s what I loved about him.”

Tony Barrett wrote in his column for Joe that Pulisic, alongside Mahmoud Dahoud, remains a target for Klopp in future windows – so we’ll see if this one eventually rears its head again.

If it does, we hope Pulisic has a quick change of allegiances!

The youngster is ludicrously talented, so we’d be quick to forgive him if he arrived at Anfield and displayed it. After all, Jamie Carragher was an Everton fan growing up, as was Robbie Fowler – so it doesn’t really mean anything once Liverpool’s red is pulled on.
