Klopp offers some eye-opening thoughts on Liverpool’s season so far

Jurgen Klopp has been speaking about Liverpool’s season so far.

We’ve played three league games and walked away with four points, and progressed to the next round of the League Cup after thumping Championship side Burton Albion 5-0.

Of course, the win at Arsenal and the draw with Spurs were both good results – but the loss against Burnley has been a bitter pill to swallow for a lot of fans.

“If you mixed our first three games up, you could say we could maybe lose at Arsenal or Tottenham. A few teams will lose there.

“We should not lose at Burnley. We could have drawn one of those games.

“Still we would have four points, which doesn’t feel too good but it’s not really bad.

“We are the only team in the Premier League to have played three away games. That’s a tough start. We cannot ignore it.” (via Echo)

How do you feel about our points haul? Klopp is clearly right, four points from three tough away games isn’t bad. If, for example, we’d beaten Burnley but lost to Arsenal we might feel better about it.

But – is it not better to have beaten Arsenal? We have shown we compete with the best sides in the league away from home. The Burnley result was an anomaly and something that can (hopefully) be easily fixed.
