Danny Ings helps U23s demolish Leicester City as Jurgen Klopp watches on from the stands

Our U23 side beat Leicester’s U23s to record a hat-trick of wins for the club this weekend.

They trashed the Foxes 4-0 on Sunday, following up the U18s’ 3-1 win over Stoke on Friday and the seniors’ 4-1 victory against Ranieri’s men on Saturday evening.

The result will be particularly pleasing for the lads involved after our boss Jurgen Klopp watched all the events unfold from the Prenton Park stands.

Danny Ings opened the scoring after just three minutes with a tap-in and Ben Woodburn doubled the lead after quarter of an hour.

Moments later U23s captain Harry Wilson made it 3-0 when he pounced on a loose ball, and after 35 minutes Ovie Ejaria made it four.

According to the official site, we could have scored a lot more, but the scoreline remained the same through to full-time.

Liverpool U23s: Kelleher, Alexander-Arnold, Randall, Ilori, Whelan (Juanma), Stewart, Wilson, Chirivella (Brannagan), Ings, Ejaria, Woodburn (Lennon).Unused substitutes: Firth, Brewitt.
