Joe Gomez injury news: Defender still at least a month from training return

Posted by

Joe Gomez is expected to return to training in late October.

According to the Echo, the youngster has been having extensive treatment to overcome his injury.

His injury nightmare started back in October 2015 whilst on England U19s duty when he ruptured an anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

It was terrible timing, coming just days after Klopp had taken over as Liverpool boss.

After working hard throughout last season to get his fitness back, he was just days away from a return to full training when he was once again struck down.

This time, the problem was tendinopathy in his Achilles.

The Echo report that he is expected to resume his training in mid to late October, but he will have been out for a year by that point and is unlikely to be in the first team squad any time soon.

Good luck in your ongoing recovery, Joe!
