Henderson shows his humble side with wonderfully modest comments about stunning goal

Jordan Henderson has been speaking to the media in his post-game interviews.

Of course, he was asked about the first-half wonder goal, and his reply was fantastically modest.

“I took a good touch out of my feet then just tried to bend it in the far corner and thankfully it went in. He’s a world-class keeper but it’s about time I got a goal!” he said (official site).

Hendo has been on the receiving end of some hugely unfair criticism recently – with some of it sadly coming from our own fanbase – but in these last few games he has really shown what a driving force he can be in our midfield.

He reads the game fantastically well, has a great range of passing, never stops working, and leads by example. There is no player in the Liverpool squad who is better suited to the captain’s armband.

Tonight’s performance was his best of the season, but he was also great against Spurs and Leicester.

He looks fitter than ever and is showing signs of his absolute best form. Let’s rally around him and show him our support, he deserves it more than ever.
