Clyne claims Liverpool can be there or thereabouts in end-of-season title race

While Jurgen Klopp has spent the evening trying to pour cold water on any early-season title talk, full-back Nathaniel Clyne is having none of it.

In an interview with SkySports, he says we have more than enough ability to be in the mix at the end of the season, as long as we keep playing the way we are at the moment.

“If we keep playing how we are then hopefully we can be in amongst it at the end of the season,” said Clyne.

“Everyone knows their roles and you can see how it’s working and paying off on the field.”

We’ve picked up ten points from our first five games – a hugely impressive haul given our tricky start. Now it’s all down to whether or not we can maximise our points haul from the upcoming run of theoretically easier fixtures.

If we beat Hull on Saturday and Swansea next weekend before the international break, there is no reason at all that we should not be in the conversation.

Our first game back after the break is against Man Utd at Anfield – one of four games of the next six which are at home. It’s vital we make the most of them.
