Sakho comments shed light on the serious breakdown in relationship between himself and the club

Mamadou Sakho has endured a serious fall from grace recently.

It was only six months ago that he was instrumental in our dramatic 4-3 win over Dortmund and people were talking about him as a possible future Liverpool captain.

But since then it’s all gone downhill.

First, he was (admittedly unfairly) banned for failing a drugs test, then he picked up an ankle injury, got sent home from the club’s tour of the USA, and got indefinitely dropped from the side by Klopp.

Now he’s launched his own attack on Klopp and the club with a bizarre outburst on Snapchat:

“Now it’s three weeks I am fit to play games. They don’t want me to play with segonde (segondo, U23s) team lol.

“Still working hard like Scouse Soldier! Still not talking cos I want to speak on the pitch….I will speak soon for the people who support me and don’t understand the situation.

“Still happy to live in my Liverpool Country with my family, hope to have chance to play soon to give my best like I try to always do!

“I accept my situation but I can’t accept the lie….the fans deserve to know the true! Thanks for your support 6 six months stay quiet.

“Have good night everybody! You’ll never walk alone!” (Echo)

It’s hard to know how to interpret this: On the one hand Sakho has shown commitment and loyalty by sticking around on the final day on the transfer window when he was told to leave.

On the other hand, why say this in public? Keep working on the training pitch and Klopp will eventually give you a chance.
