Danny Ings continues injury recovery with stunning U23 hat-trick

Danny Ings continued to edge closer to a first-team return as he smashed in a hat-trick for our U23 side today.

The striker played a full 90 minutes as we ran out 3-0 winners against Ipswich in the Premier League Cup. (Echo)

He has now netted six goals in five appearances for the U23 side after he scored a hat-trick against the same side earlier in the season.

His first goal came after three minutes, the second was scored on 80 minutes, and the third came in injury time.

Also involved in the was disgraced defender Mamadou Sakho.

Liverpool are now top of the group. We also have to face Huddersfield Town and West Bromwich Albion.
