Jordan Henderson stunner vs Chelsea claims “Goal of the Month” award

Jordan Henderson’s wonder goal at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea has won Match of the Day’s Goal of the Month award.

The England midfielder scored what proved to be the match-winner about ten minutes before the break. Dejan Lovren had already put us 1-0 ahead with a neatly taken back-post finish, but Henderson’s stunner stole the headlines.

He controlled Gary Cahill’s poor clearance about 30 yards from goal and hit a sweet curling effort right into the top corner. Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois was left flat-footed and helpless.

Henderson picked up an impressive 42% of the TV vote, more than double the number of people who decided to vote for runner-up Grant Xhaka’s goal for Arsenal against Hull. (Echo)

Liverpool have now won both of the first two Goals of the Month competitions. Sadio Mane won the gong in August.
