Adam Lallana limped off after just 19 minutes of the away victory over Swansea on Saturday and his groin injury means he might possibly miss the Manchester United clash.
At the Liberty Stadium, Jurgen Klopp decided to bring Daniel Sturridge on up top, moving Roberto Firmino to the left and dropping Coutinho into the box-to-box midfield role Lallana had been filling.
You’ll see from these highlights that he dominated the role, dribbling from deep, breaking up play and still managing to get forward enough to actively create chances.
Lallana’s been one of our best places this term and has thrived in the role alongside Jordan Henderson, but Coutinho can do it too. In fact, we’d argue he’s maybe more influential from this position.
