Liverpool have reportedly been put on alert by the news that Paris St Germain star Thiago Silva has put contract talks on hold.
According to his agent Paulo Tonietto, Silva wants to see how the club are performing when the next transfer window opens. They’ve had a bumpy start to this campaign, losing two of their first eight games. They trail leaders Nice by four points.
“A contract extension with PSG? For the moment, everything is on hold,” Tonietto said to Italian paper Calciomercato.
“We are waiting for December to see how the club is doing. If PSG fails to qualify for the next Champions League, Thiago Silva will certainly not be signing an extension.
“The market? There are a lot of clubs that are interested in him.” (via Express)
