Jordan Henderson explains how his role is different this season under Klopp

Posted by

Jordan Henderson was being written off by some silly sections of our fanbase over the summer.

Those with a more sensible long-term outlook knew he had qualities, knew he had endured a tough 12 months of injuries, and knew that if anyone was going to get the best out of him, it was going to be Jurgen Klopp.

And lo and behold, Henderson is now enjoying some of the best form in Red shirt in his Liverpool career so far. He is one of the first names on the teamsheet and has developed a wonderful understanding with Gini Wijnaldum and Adam Lallana.

Best of all?

He isn’t even playing in his most favoured attacking midfield role. Take that, naysayers.

In an interview published on TeamTalk today, Hendo has been discussing how his role is different this season compared to last season:

“It is not too much different, just a little bit more disciplined in terms of defensive duties. I have to think about protecting the team more now,” he said.

“But I have been enjoying it, I feel as though I have improved in that position over a short space of time and I am learning from the manager and all his staff.

“I feel as if I am going in the right direction with it. I just need to continue with it.”
