Emre Can has been speaking to the media ahead of the Liverpool vs Man Utd game at Anfield on Monday night.
It’s the biggest domestic game on both clubs’ calendars and tensions are sure to be running high – but the German midfielder isn’t worried.
He has revealed how he’s feeling ahead of the big game – and it should bring a smile to the faces of Liverpool fans around the world.
“We are confident enough to say that we want to win the game and we will give our best to win the game” he said (official site).
“We are confident about matching them, we have a very strong squad,” insisted Can.
“[Pogba and Zlatan] are both very good players, we know that, but we have bought very good players as well. We are confident enough and we want to win the game.”
Can is probably in line to start the game. With Lallana and Gini Wijnaldum both major doubts there is almost certainly going to be at least one midfield berth up for grabs.
If we had to guess, Klopp will do his best to only make one change — and if the reports coming out of the club are to be believed, that man will be Adam Lallana.
Hendo will probably move forward into a slightly more advanced role and Can will be asked to shield the back four — much like he did against Villarreal in the Europa League last season.
