Emre Can hails incredible Anfield atmosphere ahead of United game

Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has highlighted the importance of the Anfield atmosphere ahead of Monday night’s crucial game against Manchester United.

The German believes the fans can be key in helping Liverpool overcome Jose Mourinho’s men and extend their four game winning run in the league.

He told Liverpoolfc.com: “The atmosphere is always special and, for me, is one of the best atmospheres in the world, maybe the best one.”

“Our fans are great. They have to show that again against Manchester United.”

“They are like the 12th man for us. If they push us, of course it’s different on the pitch. It’s always nice to play in front of the amazing fans.”

Can has watched on from the sidelines for much of the season so far but could find himself in the starting line up if Adam Lallana and Georginio Wijnaldum are unable to fully recover from their respective injuries.

Jurgen Klopp will also be keen to see Reds fans replicate the roar and the passion that they produced during Liverpool’s 2-0 win against United in the Europa League last season.

Both Can and Klopp will certainly experience the levels of noise they desire. Fans have waited weeks for this game and will be determined to push the home side to what would be a huge win after the international break.

A rocking Anfield and a high intensity Liverpool performance will be vital in putting Manchester United on the back foot and reminding their big money signings of whose home they are at.

This is one of the biggest games of the season as of yet so give it everything you have got, Reds.
