Can the media just openly accept Martin Tyler is a Manchester United fan?
Every time he commentates on our bitterest rivals, he loses the plot – and when they’re playing Liverpool – he simply cannot hide his bias.
We saw evidence of it last season when Christian Benteke scored a world-class overhead kick and he barely reacted, but last night (alongside Gary Neville) it was even worse…
The game hard 20-odd minutes to run and Coutinho was literally inches away from breaking the deadlock with a 30-yard goal of the season contender. Tyler doesn’t say anything other than: ‘Ah well,’ quite clearly holding his breath at the prospect of his beloved United falling behind.
