Joe Gomez tells the world what he loves most about living in Liverpool

Our young defender Joe Gomez is firmly on the comeback trail.

He was injured for almost 12 months, but is now back in full training and is expected to see action with the U23s in the coming weeks.

He moved to Liverpool from Charlton in the summer of 2015, and he has been speaking about what he likes most about the city.

In short, he thinks it’s the area’s focus on family life:

“Liverpool is a lot more of a family-orientated place. It’s a lot less hectic than London. But I’m enjoying it man, it’s a nice city, a great place to live,” he said (Echo).

“I’ve settled in well and I love it.”

He also opened up about the year he spent on the sidelines. The injury came at a cruel time for the youngster — he had just broken into the Liverpool first team when he ruptured a knee ligament while on England duty.

The blow was made all the worse by the arrival of Klopp. The 19-year-old has still not had a chance to show the boss what he can do on a football pitch.

“It’s been a long year,” he said. “It’s been tough but I’ve grown and learned a lot mentally, so it can only be a good thing.”

When do you think we will see him back in the first XI?
