Danny Ings in line for League Cup start but one star will miss out yet again

Posted by

Jurgen Klopp is set to make significant changes to his team when we play Spurs at Anfield in the League Cup fourth round on Tuesday night.

According to the Echo, one of the likely beneficiaries is Danny Ings. He has missed 12 months of football with a knee injury but has been training with the first team and is in line to play.

Captain Jordan Henderson will definitely miss out through suspension, and the likes of Adam Lallana and Gini Wijnaldum are unlikely to be risked given their recent knocks.

Marko Grujic, Ovie Ejaria, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Kevin Stewart were all left our of the U23s’ game against Everton earlier today, hinting that they will be involved, even if they don’t necessarily all play from the start.

Lucas and Origi could also get chances, as could Alberto Moreno and Ragnar Klavan. Mamadou Sakho did play for the U23s and will not be involved.
