Klopp not entirely happy with win at Palace but still has time for a joke

Classic Jurgen Klopp.

The German couldn’t hold back the sarcasm following his side’s 4-2 win over Crystal Palace.

He was still, however, able to identify areas of his side’s dominant performance that he was unhappy with.

Speaking after the game, he told Liverpoolfc.com: “Sorry for this boring performance! I think we were responsible for the bad atmosphere. Of course, it was all good.”

“I was not too happy with the start, not clear enough, not direct enough. Good football-wise, but not how it should be.”

“Then we scored nice goals and created unbelievable chances. We really could’ve scored more, I think everybody agrees with this. Then we opened the game up again ourselves, we thought there is always excitement when Liverpool is part of the game!”

If that was a boring performance, then we can’t wait to see what an exciting one is.

Of course, Klopp was joking, but we don’t doubt his disappointment over the fact we didn’t score more than four goals.

We can only take the manager’s desire for his side to improve, as a positive. The fact he still wants more from his players is something to be excited by.

Klopp is right, we could have scored more. He wants us to punish our opponents this season and that is exactly what we have done and will continue to do, if we maintain these kind of performance levels.

There is work that still needs to be done, and this will be key in giving the players a new tactical challenge to accomplish each week and ensuring there is always something to try and achieve in the short term.
