Liverpool winger returns to training after injury

Liverpool’s youngster Sheyi Ojo has begun light training following a lengthy absence.

The 19-year-old has been injured all season, but posted a message to his 230k Instagram followers which read: ‘Back running. The return is near.’

Last term Ojo scored a goal and registered four assists, averaging a goal contribution every 90 minutes, mighty impressive for a teenager.

With our excellent start, there’s not been much said about Ojo, who’s actually up there with Ovie Ejaria and Trent Alexander-Arnold as our most talented youth player…

Jurgen Klopp lacks natural wingers in his squad, with Sadio Mane the only option who’s comfortable hugging the touchline. Ojo also fits this bill on either flank in the 4-3-3, so could become a handy option throughout the campaign – especially when Mane leaves for the African Cup of Nations.

With the team currently winning and the likes of Daniel Sturridge struggling for minutes, there’s no natural spot for Ojo – but hopefully he’ll be patient and wait for his opportunities. You can be sure that he’ll slot naturally into the Under-23 side as soon as he’s fit enough for starters…
