Barca thankfully put an end to absurd transfer rumour

Liverpool legend and current Barcelona ace Luis Suarez will not be joining Manchester United, but in fairness, we new that anyway.

Stories which suggested the Uruguayan could quit Spain for a world-record fee did the rounds last week, but to us they made absolutely no sense – mainly because of how much the 29-year-old wanted to leave England when he was playing here for us…

The reports emanated from Spain, but were picked up English journalists, such as here in ESPN, which got fans of United and Liverpool speculating over whether the biggest transfer in the history of football could happen.

“We read, we listen, we see this news, but of course, our interest in this particular case is that Luis Suarez is happy at Barcelona,” president Josep Maria Bartomeu told Sky Sports, cited in the Mirror

“We are trying to extend his contract with Barcelona.

“He is one of our big future efforts because he is still young, he has a vision, a lot of ambition.”

Suarez is already at the club of his dreams and we hope this is the end of any pointless rumours, especially ones linking him to our most bitter rivals.

His parent club don’t want him to leave, the player wants to stay and Manchester United are the last club he’d join.

Moving on!
