Reds defender ranks Liverpool’s three fastest players

Liverpool defender Nathaniel Clyne is pretty nifty on his feet himself, but even he admits to one teammate being faster than him.

The England international has named himself as the second quickest player at the club and has commented on his chances in a race against Sadio Mane- who he named as Liverpool’s fastest man.

He told Goal.com: “Me and him in a race? That would be tough and a close one.”

“I have to say, he is faster, definitely when he is on the ball anyway. The top three are Sadio, then me and then Alberto [Moreno].”

We would love to see a foot race between the three of them, although we agree with Clyne that Mane would probably win.

The combined pace of Mane and Clyne down Liverpool’s right hand side has been frightening so far this season, with the two quietly building a strong partnership.

Both men have been pivotal in implementing Jurgen Klopp’s high intensity attacking football and have used their pace to quicken the all important transition from defence to attack.

Having the option of Moreno’s explosiveness at left-back is something that can be of great value to Klopp as the season progresses.

Though the Spaniard hasn’t featured regularly in recent weeks, he still carries an attacking threat capable of making a difference to the side.

Good luck to any opponent that is faced with the challenge of keeping up with any one of these men.
