Young Liverpool defender Joe Gomez made significant progress in his recovery yesterday as he played 45 minutes in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Accrington Stanley.
The 19-year-old suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in October last year that has sidelined him up until recent weeks.
Gomez finally returned to training last month and came on at half-time in Sunday’s 5-0 win at Melwood.
His gradual return to full fitness represents Liverpool’s already impressive squad depth, becoming even stronger.
Fans have taken to Twitter to express their joy over the return of Liverpool’s promising youngster.

Fantastic to have Joe Gomez fit again, Milner can’t be a long term solution at left back so the closer Joe gets to the first team the better
