(Video) Lallana’s 20-odd minutes prove he’s England’s best player & deserves no.10 role permanently

The worst thing about this international break, as well as it being mindbogglingly boring, was that Adam Lallana picked up an injury during last night’s ‘meaningless’ friendly with Spain.

Despite it being a non-competitive fixture, it was played at breakneck speed and an injury to somebody was bound to happen.

Sadly for us, it was our in-form playmaker, who’d been given the no.10 role in Wayne Rooney’s absence.

Not that we particularly want our players risking themselves with England, but he deserves it full time. In just 20-odd minutes, he produced a scintillating through-ball for Jamie Vardy who won a penalty, which Lallana then converted. He also pressed like a man possessed and won possession back from Spain’s midfielders, playing clever, one-touch passes in the process.

All we can do now is be grateful England won’t be using him until March and pray his injury isn’t serious.
